Andre Bernovski – An Artist Between Cultures and Sound Worlds
Andre Bernovski is a classical guitarist of remarkable artistic depth and international background. Born in Belarus, raised in Israel, and now based in Germany, his playing is shaped by the rich cultural influences of three distinct musical worlds. His artistry is defined by technical finesse, stylistic versatility, and a profound expressive sensibility.

His musical journey began at an early age: at six, he received his first piano lessons, but his fascination with the guitar quickly took hold. At the age of nine, he finally began formal guitar studies – an instrument he had long been drawn to. Following his family's move to Israel, he continued his musical education at the municipal music school in Be’er Sheva. By the age of 14, he was studying under the esteemed guitarist and professor Yoram Zerbib, whose mentorship deeply influenced his artistic development.
After completing his military service, Andre first pursued studies in sound engineering before dedicating himself fully to his true passion – classical guitar. He went on to study at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, graduating with distinction in 2015.

That same year, he relocated to Germany, where he has since established himself as both a respected educator and sought-after concert artist. His performances are regularly heard on international stages and are praised by critics and audiences alike for their clarity, depth, and virtuosity.
His exceptional talent was recognized early on with numerous competition prizes, including a prestigious award from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, granted to only a select few promising artists. Further refinement of his craft came through masterclasses with some of the world’s leading guitarists, including Roland Dyens, Aniello Desiderio, Tilman Hoppstock, Alexandre Vinitsky, among others.
Andre Bernovski's repertoire is as diverse as it is refined, encompassing solo and chamber music from a wide range of eras and styles:
-
Baroque: J. Dowland, J.S. Bach
-
Romantic & 20th Century: J. Rodrigo, A. Piazzolla, A. José, A.M. Barrios, I. Albéniz, H. Villa-Lobos
-
Contemporary: R. Dyens, L. Yekutieli, and many more
Through his nuanced tone, stylistic elegance, and striking musical presence, Andre Bernovski stands out as one of the most compelling voices in the international classical guitar scene today.
